Etiquette and Attire for the Weekend
Rules of the Dance and Convention
- In order to ensure the execution of the intensive course
and to definitively prepare the hall for you,
we kindly request your esteemed booking
by no later than 15th September 2026.
Notice regarding refunds:
Should the minimum requirement of 12 participants not be met
and the workshop must be cancelled on our part,
your paid fees will naturally be refunded
in full and without any deductions. - While dancing, the line is under no circumstances to be left.
- Please always join the line at the very end.
- In the spirit of gallantry, we request the ladies to occasionally
cede their gentleman for a dance to other ladies; likewise, the gentlemen
shall distribute their attention equally among all ladies of the assembly. - We most politely request that you maintain silence during the dance instructions
and listen to the explanations –
even if you believe yourself to be already secure
in your knowledge of the dance. - A watchful eye on the other dancers is an excellent means
to grasp the flow of the dance and to increase your own confidence. - Mobile phones are to be switched to silent
(with formal indulgence granted to the organizer for accessibility purposes). - Pets are not permitted in the ballroom.

For our Jane Austen Promenade through the Fürth Stadtpark,
historical attire around 1800 is requested.
We kindly ask for your understanding
that absolute historical perfection is not demanded;
the joy of appearance and respect for the era
remain at the forefront.
De Promenade for Ladies
The wardrobe for the promenade is characterized
by the classic Empire silhouette.
A high-waisted chemise dress made of fine cambric
or muslin forms the foundation.
A Spencer (short jacket) or a Pelisse (long coat) are
the correct choices for promenading in Bavarian weather.
Accessories such as a bonnet, long gloves,
and a small reticule complete the elegant appearance.

De Promenade for Gentlemen
Elegant simplicity is the order of the day.
A tailcoat or redingote over a waistcoat,
accompanied either by knee-breeches with stockings
or slightly more modern pantaloons.
A top hat or bicorne, an artfully tied cravat,
and a walking cane lend the appearance
the necessary dignity for the Stadtpark.
