With the Pleasure Garden, our festive festival weekend concludes in the gentlest manner. Following the glamorous intoxication of the ball night in the princely Hall of Mirrors Sunday once again offers the welcome opportunity to deepen the acquaintances made at leisure, review the finest memories, and let the soul repose.
The idea of these open-air refuges is rooted in Regency England: Fashionable places like Vauxhall or Ranelagh in London were the legendary meeting points of high society. Between music pavilions, green avenues, and small stages, people surrendered to cheerful diversion – precisely that incomparable mixture of sociability, play, and rural idyll that we revive in princely Eichstätt.

A more exquisite place could scarcely be conceived for this day. Eichstätt – that luminous jewel of the Rococo – harbors with the Court Garden of the Summer Residence a true work of garden art, that delights through its refined symbiosis: The strict, elegant axes of baroque garden architecture merge harmoniously here with the gently curving paths and sweeping lawns of an English landscape garden.
Stroll in light muslin dress, frock coat, or with an elegant poke bonnet through the shady avenues and enjoy the rustling of the ancient tree crowns. Here historical day fashion around 1800 comes alive and grants you space for dreamlike visual motifs and portraits against a stately backdrop.
III. Dance in the pavilion & refreshments of the Regency
The architectural jewel of the park is the historical pavilion: Beneath its protective roof we invite you once more to dance! In a relaxed, cheerful atmosphere we celebrate the quadrilles and graceful cotillions rehearsed in the workshop, whilst the music wafts out through the open arches into the garden.
For greeting and refreshment we plan for you a fitting prelude: Let yourself be enticed by a refreshing orange wine or another authentic refreshment according to historical Regency recipes to invigorate the senses.
IV. Royal Ascot & open-air games of the Bon Ton
This year a very special, amusing spectacle awaits our society: Our playful, tongue-in-cheek realization of the traditional Royal Ascot! Allow yourself to be thrilled and seduced by our very own realization of the race.
Furthermore, the finest games of the Bon Ton genre are at your free disposal: Test your skill at historical pall-mall, cochonnet, rustic skittles, horseshoe pitching, imperial throwing, or spirited hoop rolling. A carefree pleasure for every taste, that breathes the spirit of the year 1800.
V. The picnic on the lawn & the farewell
What would a summer country outing be without the traditional déjeuner on the lawn? The wide, manicured lawns of the Court Garden expressly invite you to spread your brought picnic blanket and refresh yourselves from your own basket. Share delicacies, toast one another, and enjoy the final hours together.
